Our school honored Veterans Day today with a special program held in the gymnasium. Students from grades 7 through 12 delivered thoughtful speeches highlighting the history of wars, the different branches of the armed services, and the medals awarded for valor, including the Medal of Honor. The elementary students, under the direction of the music teacher, performed songs representing each branch of the military, and veterans in attendance proudly stood when their song was played. A video presentation added a personal touch, featuring photos of veterans from our community that had been submitted in advance, showing them during their time of service. The program was a meaningful tribute to the courage and sacrifice of our veterans.
