On Wednesday, April 24, the class of 2024 had a Cameo Pizza fundraiser to earn funds for the senior class trip. Thanks to the community the class raised a large sum to go towards their trip. Thank you to those who contributed!

Drug Task Force Assembly
Friday 8th period Officer Trevor Johnson from The Ottawa County Drug Task Force came to our school to talk to the student body about the dangers of drugs. His presentation was interactive and the student learned a lot.
Here We Go Again!
This past weekend our 2024 prom was held at the Put-in-Bay Yacht Club. This year’s theme was Mama Mia Disco and the evening was beautiful and clear.
School Supplies Drive
The National Honor Society is conducting a school supplies drive to benefit schools in the Dayton region. People can donate school supplies such as pencils, crayons, gluesticks, or notebooks. They can be used or new.
Peter Pan and Wendy
The Put-in-Bay Art Council had a successful play. Good job to all the actors, and thank you to all the community members who came to watch!
Cooper’s Woods Fun Walk
On Monday, April 22, Earth Day, students participated in a Fun Walk through Cooper’s Woods with Mrs. Kowalski after school. The walk was a on a mile long trail in the woods, and participants pulled invasive garlic mustard plants along the way. Happy Earth Week!
Cuisine Day
On April 24, Cuisine Day was held. Students in Spanish I, II, III, and IV classes cooked and prepared, and served culinary dishes from Spanish-speaking countries. The dishes that they served included tacos, quesadillas, enchiladas, albóndigas (meatballs), black beans & rice, Spanish rice, Spanish sweet rice, chips and salsa, and guacamole. The amazing desserts included tres leches cake, churros, almendras carmelizadas, and miguelitos.
State Science Fair Results!!!
Congratulations to Kate Hubner and Emma Michael for getting superior scores on their State Science Fair projects. Kate’s project was “Which Paper Towel Brand is the Strongest.” Emmas’s project was “The Reduction in Bacterial Growth After Using a Cleanser.”
Congresswoman Kaptur Floor Speech Honoring Put-In-Bay 7th Grader Caleb Kowalski Science Fair Victory
Caleb Kowalski is a 7th grader at Put-In-Bay Middle School. When he needed a project for his school science fair, he turned to nearby Lake Erie for inspiration. He went on to win the Northwest Ohio Science and Engineering Fair for his project focusing on combatting algal blooms.
Ohio State Testing
Students Kate Hubner and Emma Michael are entering the Computer Lab to begin their State of Ohio testing. The State of Ohio conducts end-of-year testing to assess student performance. These assessments measure mastery of content in specific high school and elementary courses.
Twirling Club Competition
The Twirling club completed last weekend at Avon Lake High School. Congratulations to all twirlers.
Sculptures
Students in Art I are creating 3-D sculptures using armature wire and translucent fabric.
