The weekend of December 13, the Put-in-Bay Panthers traveled for six hours to play against three other basketball teams in the Great Lakes Islands Basketball Tournament. The Panthers faced off against the Beaver Island Islanders for the first game. Later that day, the Panther boys played the Washington Island Bucks. The following day, the Mackinac Island Lakers faced off against the Panther boys. The Panthers came out on top and won the boys championship trophy for the first time without losing a single game.
