The annual Blessing of the Fleet will be at the Jet Dock on May 9. Grades 4-7 will be singing at it under the direction of Ms. Pippert. This is an event that is looked forward to each year.
Top Ten Banquet
Ottawa County’s Top Ten Banquet was help on April 19, 2023 at Camp Perry. This banquet was established as a means to recognize hard work, dedication, and academic achievement. This year’s student representative was Macy Sophia Ladd. At the banquet, she was awarded an Earl J. Johnson scholarship. Macy will be attending Kent State University in the Fall. Her honored educator was Craig Schuffenecker.
Touch the Truck
On April 18, the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office brought some of its specialized vehicles and equipment to the PIBVD Fire Station for community members and school students to see. Put-in-Bay School students were able to get into the vehicles and ask questions. They had two patrol cars, an ATV, and an armored SWAT truck. They also brought a battering ram and a riot shield. These vehicles were then used in a school response training exercise.
Tough Islander!
On Wednesday, May 10 across from the Put-in-Bay Airport, PE teacher Mr. Danes is holding an out door obstacle race. ALL grades are allowed to sign up! There will be different times for all age groups to attend.

Cuisine Day 2023
Today, April 19th, the Put in Bay School Spanish students held Cuisine Day! Everyone made delicious Spanish dishes and they were enjoyed by the whole school. There were many different Spanish dishes including flan, guacamole, tacos, piña coladas, caramelized almonds, and much more! Thank you Spanish students for all of your hard work!

Quiz Bowl vs Community
On Wednesday, March 8, the PIB High School Quiz Bowl team competed against community members. Competing on the community team were Billy Market, JR Domer, Rudy Rence, and Missi Kowalski.
