On Monday, March 31, art 1, 3, and 4 took a field trip to the University of Teledo planetarium. The classes watched an educational video about the colors of the universe. After, they went to lunch and visited the Franklin Park Mall. The students enjoyed their time and appreciate Mrs. J for taking them.

Kindness Skit by Geoffrey and Lily
On March 7, Geoffrey and Lily performed a skit and highlighted the importance of treating others with kindness at a school wide assembly.
Bridge Crusher
Students built bridges using only cardboard, popsicle sticks, and glue. The strength of the bridges was tested by Mr. Schuffenecker and the bridge destroyer. Elias Wright had the strongest bridge that maxed out the scale and held over 300 lbs. Ava Heineman and Kate Hubner also defeated the bridge destroyer by overloading the scale.
Science Olympiad Winner
On Friday, February 14, students competed in the annual Science Olympiad. There were over 10 events that took place that day, such as Egg Drop, Pictionary, Human Hungry Hungry Hippos, and more. Elias Wright took home the trophy by winning the most events. This year’s Science Olympiad was a huge success.
Spirit Week
During spirit week in the last week of January, the students at Put-in-Bay School dressed up in various fun outfits. Christmas Concert
Students in grades k-8 did a phenomenal job singing in the annual Christmas Concert. A few high school students played instruments in the concert as well. Congratulations to all of the participants!
Secret Santa Week
During the week of December 9th-13th students are participating in Secret Santa. Students anonymously give one of their classmates secret gifts throughout the week. This was organized by student council.
Quiz Bowl vs Community
On Thursday, November 14, the Put-in-Bay Quiz Bowl team competed against the community in a Brain Games style match. Both teams had lots of fun answering questions. It was a very close game, but the the Quiz Bowl team won with a score of 240-220.
History on Halloween
History on Halloween is an annual event/assignment on October 31 for grades 7-12. Based on their grade, students have different guidelines for which person in history they can dress up as. Students get graded for staying dressed up for their chosen person throughout the whole. Everyone looks forward to History on Halloween!
