Bridge Crusher

Students built bridges using only cardboard, popsicle sticks, and glue. The strength of the bridges was tested by Mr. Schuffenecker and the bridge destroyer. Elias Wright had the strongest bridge that maxed out the scale and held over 300 lbs. Ava Heineman and Kate Hubner also defeated the bridge destroyer by overloading the scale.

Science Olympiad Winner

On Friday, February 14, students competed in the annual Science Olympiad. There were over 10 events that took place that day, such as Egg Drop, Pictionary, Human Hungry Hungry Hippos, and more. Elias Wright took home the trophy by winning the most events. This year’s Science Olympiad was a huge success.

District Qualifiers

This year four students are moving on to District Science Fair at Ohio Northern University. Congratulations to Lear Cooks and Olivia Christensen for getting a superior score of 36. Congratulations to Elias Wright for getting a superior score of 39. Congratulations to Emma Michael for getting a superior score of 40. All science fair participants did a great job! Good luck to the advancing students!

On February 14th, students at Put-in-Bay School presented their science fair projects to judges. The event featured creative experiments and detailed research, showcasing the students’ talent and hard work.

Senior Day for Panter Basketball Team

Senior Day for Panter Basketball Team

At their final game of the season on Saturday, February 8, all of the seniors on the Panther basketball team were honored, along with their parents. Their mothers each received a bouquet of flowers. Seniors on the team are Richard Scarpelli, Ava Heineman, Elias Wright, Geoffrey Luecke, and Jacob Seaman. These outstanding basketball players will be missed by their teammates next season.

Elementary Book Club

Elementary Book Club

The National Honor Society has started an elementary book club open to grades K-4. Meetings take place on Thursdays at 3:45 in Mrs. Danes’s room. Kids are welcome to bring their own books or can find one with the help of a high schooler.

Spirit Week

During spirit week in the last week of January, the students at Put-in-Bay School dressed up in various fun outfits. Monday was meme day, Tuesday was anything but a backpack day, Wednesday was famous pairs day, Thursday was minion day, and Friday was blue and white day. Thank you to all of the students who participated!

Racket Sports Tournament

Racket Sports Tournament

Put-in-Bay School had a racket sports tournament that included ping pong, pickleball, and badminton. The students and teachers that signed up competed in a bracket and played their hardest in hopes of advancing to the finals. Ava Heineman won the ping pong and pickleball finals. The badminton final was postponed but will take place another day with Brennan Jones and Ava Heineman facing off.
